For some businesses, having a point of sale is mandatory. A comprehensive solution such as the one designed by Intuit should help you manage inventory, calculate sales taxes, and ease other accounting tasks like generating financial reports. The QuickBooks point of sale system is recommended by accounting experts for its reliability and robust functionality. For instance, it integrates with the QuickBooks software. It makes it easier to track employee time and hence payroll processing.
The QuickBooks Point of sale Support is a bundle of software and hardware. The hardware consists of a POS stand, an iPad for the interface, a secure cash drawer, a barcode scanner and a payment device. We are a premier re seller meaning that you can purchase all of these and including the software from us. However, we are more interested in offering you quality support for your new system. The quality of hardware and software is the same across all Intuit premier re sellers but you would be inconvenienced without professional support.
People who are new to QuickBooks might wonder why they would need support to use the system. The system is very intuitive and actually, anyone with basic computer knowledge will quickly adapt to it with just a little training. However, QuickBooks has a lot of functions and not to say that you cannot grasp everything there is to know but that would take time. In other words, you will need an accountant to ascertain the accuracy of your data or to help you with payroll processing. Below are just a few highlights of what we can help you do.
Once in a while, you get a PC update that can throw your whole operation into a tizzy. This one was definitely a troublemaker. If you cannot start your POS server it is usually due to one of two reasons:
Since we have outlined the steps to determine if your POS database is corrupt in a different article, we will now focus on steps to take to see if your PC has been hit with a “nasty” update that has compromised your QuickBooks POS software. Try these solutions:
Special Note: If you have renamed your database file and have client machines that are accessing the database server, you will need to delete the following files on each client machine:
This should enable the client workstations to reconnect to your new company file.
Repairing QuickBooks Point Of Sale Server Connection To Client Workstation
In most instances, rebooting the client machine will solve the problem. However, if this does not solve the problem, follow the steps below in this exact order:
Invalid Product Code Or Invalid Product Number Errors
Another connectivity issue that QuickBooks Point of Sale customers face is the Invalid Product Code or Invalid Product Number error, also known as Error Code 176109. This error sometimes appears when upgrading Point of Sale to a newer version, or adding a client license to an existing Point of Sale network. This also can happen when trying to open or register Point of Sale.
This error can result from using an incorrect product code. Verify the product code by clicking on Help > About Point of Sale and looking for the words “Product Number”. If the product number is correct, make sure you are logged into Windows as the administrator. Once you have eliminated administrator rights as a possible cause, the most likely culprit is damaged files in the Point of Sale Client Entitlement Folder.
Windows 7 and Vista
To repair these damaged files on Windows 7 and Vista operating systems, click the Start button > Control Panel > Folder Options.
Choose the “View” tab and select “Show hidden files, folders, or drives and click OK.
Click the Windows Start button > Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Data > Intuit > Entitlement Client > v8 and press Ctrl + A to select all of the files in the folder.
Right click the mouse with cursor inside the highlighted folder area and click Delete.
Now launch QuickBooks Point of Sale. If the problem persists, you will need to uninstall the Point of Sale software and re-install it.
To fix this on Windows 8 position your mouse in the lower left hand corner until the Start box appears, click on the Start > File Explorer, click on the View tab and check the Hidden Items checkbox.
Browse to Local Disk (C:) > Program Data > Intuit > Entitlement Client > v8 and press Ctrl + A to select all of the files in the folder. Right click the mouse with cursor inside the highlighted folder area and click Delete.
Now launch Point of Sale. If the problem persists, you will need to uninstall the Point of Sale software and re-install it.
We set it up for you
Before you purchase the system, call our toll-free number and discuss your needs with one of our Certified ProAdvisors. Depending on your business, you might not need all the hardware included with this bundle. For instance, you would not be in need of a barcode scanner if you plan to use the POS system in a restaurant setting. Set up also includes helping you integrate the QuickBooks POS Support with your QuickBooks. Although you can opt to run QuickBooks locally, a hosted solution or one that runs from the cloud is recommended. Note that apart from support, we also offer hosting solutions for the desktop editions of QuickBooks including Premier and Enterprise.
We offer accounting help
Our Certified ProAdvisors will be willing to help you prepare tax reports, process payroll, and provide instant answers to your questions whenever you are stranded. For instance, it is very unlikely that you know how to customize receipts and other reports unless you have done it before. Instead of scouring the Internet for answers that rarely solve problems, why don’t you just call us and save time? Everyone knows that only people who have completed Intuit’s ProAdvisors Program can work in QuickBooks without calling for help. Do you have the time to learn or are you more focused on the growth of your business?
Of course, support costs you money but you would end up losing more if you opt not to buy it. Inaccurate tax reports or late submissions carry hefty penalties. We know you would be comfortable channeling your hard earned profits to the tax authorities.
